“Open Doors” Capital & Redevelopment Campaign
This fall, St. Stephen’s Building Redevelopment Action Group (BRAG) began a capital campaign to support our vision of a revitalized St. Stephen’s, a vision we call ”Open Doors”. The focus of the vision is how our buildings and property can better reflect our true calling to be a facility that is fully accessible for church programs and community events—in a way, the church as a modern-day community centre.
The Vision
“Open Doors”: A fully accessible and sustainable church that supports our mission and ministry by facilitating church programs, engaging the wider community and utilizing space for revenue generation.
The Goal
Redevelopment of our buildings and property to ensure they are safe, accessible, welcoming, and useful.
The Strategy
A two-phase capital and redevelopment campaign:
Phase I: Laying the Foundations: A $1.1 million campaign for upgrades to mechanical and electrical services, the enhancement of our worship space, installation of new washrooms, installation of an elevator.
Phase II: Opening the Doors: A campaign for the development of a courtyard and public space expansion of lower level linkage of principal buildings, further enhancement of worship space, possible redevelopment of the Rectory and Memorial Hall.
